Multicultural Center
The Multicultural Center is a welcoming space for all Western students. In and beyond the MCC, explore services that center support of BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQ+ students. The MCC houses Multicultural Student Services, including the Ethnic Student Center and Blue Resource Center, LGBTQ+ Western, the Tribal Liaison, and the Director of Student Resilience. The MCC also includes beautiful community space to study, hold club meetings, and meet friends. Programming in the space is organized by Multicultural Student Services, LGBTQ+ Western, the Disability Access Center, and our partners.

Disability Access Center
The DAC partners with students, faculty, and staff to create accessible and inclusive class and co-curricular environments for students with disabilities. Accommodations facilitated by the DAC help ensure disabled students’ civil rights. In the 2022-23 year, the Disability Outreach Center became a program of the DAC, providing a place for students to connect and build community.
Multicultural Student Services
The Office of Multicultural Student Services creates initiatives and programming to support Western’s strategic goals in equity, excellence, and inclusion for our students. MSS strives to create and ensure an inclusive university community by centering and amplifying the voice of students with underrepresented and marginalized identities. We do this through collaboration, celebration, advocacy, and the development of learning spaces that focus on the topics of race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and ability. The Ethnic Student Center, La Plaza, Black Student Coalition, and Blue Resource Center are part of MSS.

LGBTQ+ Western
LGBTQ+ Western works to advance the holistic thriving of diverse LGBTQ+ students by collaboratively engaging the Western community with transformational knowledge, resources, advocacy and celebration. LGBTQ+ Western is committed to learning about and celebrating sexual orientation and gender identity diversity as they intersect with race, ethnicity, nationality, ability, religion, and other aspects of identity and experience. We provide student support, LGBTQ+ affirming learning opportunities and celebrations, and advocacy centering diverse queer and trans spectrum Western students.

Student-led clubs are great ways to connect with students who share similar interests and build leadership skills. From the many clubs that make up the Ethnic Student Center, to the Adaptive Sports Club, Neurodivergent Club, QueerCon, Queer Eco Justice Club, and Lavender Menaces, there are many opportunities to get involved!
