Disability Affinity Groups

These spaces center certain populations. Like all Western Washington University and Disability Outreach Center events, all are welcome. Everyone is asked to come open-minded and attentive to the purpose of the space.

You are welcome to bring a friend, come and go as needed, whatever you wish! For remote attendance, please email disability.outreach@wwu.edu.

If you are interested in starting another disability affinity space at the DOC, please email disability.outreach@wwu.edu.

New Affinity Programs

We are always exploring new affinity spaces supporting people within the disability community. New affinity groups in progress include groups centering disabled BIPOC community members; disabled older students, graduate students, and non-traditional students; fat and plus-sized LGBTQIA+ community members; newly disabled students; and mobility device users. We are always open to suggestions! Please email disability.outreach@wwu.edu if you would like to request another affinity program.
