Pornography is extremely relevant in our day and age and conversations need to be had about how to critically examine the topic and the effects it can have.  Join us for open discussions about something we often think of as private! Topics such as  how we are exposed to pornography and how it is talked about from a young age, how parents go about the conversations, and/or the lack of conversations at all. We then will engage in learning about the  behavior and how pornography affects individual behavior, especially at a young age.

Join ASA and LGBTQ+ Western in a conversation about Gender Expression in Arab culture. Hosted in partnership with the Arab Student Association, the Ethnic Student Center, and LGBTQ+ Western.

"What does it mean to be living in the Age of Technofascism?

Today, we'll talk about it! Specifically, how powerful parties' abuses of technology in today's society oppress communities globally - particularly how these effects are exacerbated for marginalized communities. After contextualizing ourselves, we'll discuss some mitigation strategies (in the form of theoretical frameworks and practical tools) to protect ourselves from some of these invasive practices. Finally, we'll end with a group discussion to answer some lingering questions. Hosted by Jack Hueso, Alma Clark Glass - Kappa Inclusion Assistant.

In honor of Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi American Heritage Month, we invite the WWU community to join us in unpacking the umbrella term "APIDA" and exploring the ways in which the model minority myth has been used as a tool for maintaining oppressive systems.

A presentation discussing different methods of indigenous farming, different plants such as camas, and climate hope focused on community resilience. This session will also have an interactive element  for participants to create tea bags out of to take home or to take back with her to the Garden space. Hosted in partnership with the WWU Community Service Center and AmeriCorp.
