Description

Drop by the Disability Access Center (DAC) and Disability Outreach Center (DOC) table at Fall Info Fair! We will be tabling outside of Wilson Library near the Skybridge from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. We will have lots of giveaways including bags, fidget keychains, pens, stickers, and more! 
 


DisOrientation
DisOrientation is the Disability Access Center (DAC) and Disability Outreach Center (DOC)’s Western Welcome programming. Join us for a week-long welcome (back) to Western for all students, including new first year, transfer, and graduate students as well as returning students. Join us to build community and connections, learn about how to access and navigate university services and resources at Western including the DAC and DOC, and have fun!

  • Location: Outside of Wilson Library near the Skybridge.
  • Bathrooms: An ADA accessible and all-gender bathroom will be available in the Wilson Library near the Disability Access Center and Disability Outreach Center.
  • COVID and Contagious Illness Precautions: Masks, Air Purifier, Testing, and Illness:
    • Masks: Masks are strongly encouraged at this event. KN95 masks are available at the table. Masking makes in-person gatherings accessible for many, especially those in our immunocompromised and immunodeficient communities. Help protect our community by wearing a mask. However, we know that masking is inaccessible for some in our community.
    • Testing: Attendees are encouraged to test for COVID prior to coming to the event, if possible. We will have a limited number of rapid COVID tests available upon request.
    • Illness Policy: If you are experiencing any symptoms of contagious illness such as cough, sore throat, fever, or nausea, we encourage you to please stay home and join us at another time as our community includes members who are immunocompromised or have immunodeficiencies.
  • Fragrance-Free: Please refrain from wearing scented products such as perfume, cologne, and fragrant personal care products while at training as they can trigger serious health issues for those with fragrance allergies and/or chemical sensitivities.   • Campus Accessibility: Please refer to the Interactive Campus Map for information about the nearest accessible doors, elevators, walkways, routes, and parking spots.
