DisOrientation: Glam Up Your Mobility Devices and Campus Accessibility Tour
Description
Join the Disability Access Center (DAC), Disability Outreach Center (DOC), and Institute for Critical Disability Studies for a two-part event: Glam Up Your Mobility Devices where we'll have supplies for decorating mobility devices and accessibility aids and a Campus Accessibility Tour where we'll tour the accessible paths of travel around campus and show you how to get to your classes! Glam Up Your Mobility Devices will be in Viking Union (VU) 464. If you'd just like to join us for the Campus Accessibility Tour, meet in VU 464 at 3:45 PM. We will leave for the tour at 4:00 PM. For Glam Up Your Mobility Devices, we will be providing supplies but feel free to bring your supplies and work with others. Please RSVP on WIN so we can get an accurate number for supplies. The Campus Accessibility Tour will focus on accessible routes from North Campus to South Campus and the bus back, but RSVP to indicate what classrooms, buildings, or areas you would like to get a tour of. We will also cover how to get around town including Paratransit.
DisOrientation is the Disability Access Center (DAC) and Disability Outreach Center (DOC)’s Western Welcome programming. Join us for a week-long welcome (back) to Western for all students, including new first year, transfer, and graduate students as well as returning students. Join us to build community and connections, learn about how to access and navigate university services and resources at Western including the DAC and DOC, and have fun!
