Workshop for Students: Understanding and Navigating Conflict

Date

Location

Multicultural Center 735

Description

Conflict is a normal part of existing in community with other people. Yet we rarely pause to reflect on how we engage in (or avoid) conflict or to learn skills for moving through conflict that are effective and align with our values. In this session, we’ll discuss common dynamics of conflict and its escalation, and learn strategies for addressing conflicts constructively and with care. We’ll consider how our own identities and experiences, and the identities and experiences of those with whom we are in conflict, inform the ways we understand and deal with conflict. All students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in this conversation.
