Workshop for Faculty and Staff: Accessible by Design

Date

Location

Academic West 305

Description

Principles of universal design can be applied to course design and delivery of instruction in ways that increase access and inclusion for many students and reduce the need for individual accommodations. In this session, Disability Access Center (DAC) staff will outline the foundational principles of universal design for learning (UDL) and support faculty and staff in identifying ways their courses can be proactively designed to achieve greater accessibility. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring one of their syllabi or an outline for a particular class unit or program in which they would like to apply UDL principles.

Workshops held in Multicultural Center 735 in the Viking Union. Check the ADEI Unit events website for location updates soon before the date of the workshop.

For disability accommodations, please contact ess.adei@wwu.edu; one week of advance notice is appreciated.
